Lunch today was great. We went to California Pizza Kitchen and that place has a lot of healthy options. But first a drink.
I had a Cherry Vodka spritzer and Sarah had a Mai Tai. They were both delicious.
I had a Roasted Veggie with Chicken salad.
Sarah had a Moroccan Spiced Chicken Salad.
It was so good and very fresh. A lot of girl talk happened i just love getting together with Sarah. We always have such a great time together.
I was so full from lunch I didn’t have much for dinner. I did however watch the Hunger Games. What a great movie. The books were so fantastic I wasn’t quite sure about the movie but I think it’s great. I think the casting was amazing. Now I’m in bed getting mentally prepared for Monday.
See you later.
Last night Steve and I met some friends for dinner at The Yard House. It was our first time there and we didn’t realize how popular it was. Thankfully our friends had put their name on the list but we still had about an hour wait.
The entire place was really nice. There was dark woods, and the lighting was great. And let me tell you about this….
This my friends is the world’s best margarita. It was called an Escalade Margarita and man was it good. I’ve never had such a fresh margarita before. Normally they taste like the sweet and sour mix but not this little guy.
Then it was time for dinner which was apparently so good I forgot to take pictures. (It couldn’t possibly have been the two margarita’s that I drank). I had a surf and turf burger which was good but Steve’s Ahi Tuna Sandwich stole the show. The tuna was perfect and whatever kind of sauce they put on there was amazing! We will absolutely be going back. The food was fantastic and the drinks were great. I wish I could have seen someone order a yard of beer so I could get a picture for you.
This morning I’m just blogging and getting ready for lunch with my best friend Sarah. We have been friends since the 6th grade and it’s been about a month since we’ve had a day to just us. Then I have to get some more studying in. This NASM book is HUGE!!!
Have a great Sunday!
And just in case you wanted to see a bathroom picture…..
Then here you go. I thought that the sinks at The Yard House were really cool. They were like a waterfall. Does anyone else find it strange that I take a picture of the bathroom sink but completely forget to take pictures of the food?
Well Happy Saturday! It’s a beautiful and chilly day here in Denver.
Last night was date night and Steve and I went for sushi.
Oh my goodness it was so good! I love sushi and it’s such a treat when we go.
Workout and Breakfast
This mornings workout was thanks to Julie at Peanut Butter Fingers man it was killer. It was her Can’t Stop Won’t Stop and it was 25 minutes of sweaty circuits.
I had a blueberry protein pancake for breakfast and then we were off to Target. I of course went straight to the Starbucks in Target for my non fat chai.
And I know I’m a nerd but I had to buy it!
I’m reading the Hunger Games again because it was just too good the first two times. I’m excited to break into this baby and get to watching.
We had some errands to run around town. I have a great pc computer that I haven’t used in years. It would be nice to be able to type up a blog post on the computer and not my phone so we bought a wireless card and it’s currently downloading 4 hours of updates. We’ll see if it works.
I had a quinoa and avocado bowl for lunch. We’re getting ready to head back out to Ikea and the mall and then we’re having dinner with some friends.
Hope you’re all having a fantastic Saturday!
I can’t believe that it’s been two months since I posted a blog! I’ve been neglecting you! I’ve missed posting two vacations, one in Arkansas and another just last weekend at the lake.
Canvas and Cocktails with Leslie.
And some pretty exciting news. I’ve decided to become a Certified Personal Trainer. I received my NASM book on Monday. I’m a little overwhelmed at some of the terms but I think I’ll get it. I will also specialize in Fitness Nutrition. Speaking of fitness check out this lunch today.
Spinach, Peach, Quinoa, Pecan and Lemon dressing. Yummy!!
I promise I will be around more often it has just been a very busy two months and my priority has been family.
See ya soon
This morning I got a really good stretch in. It wasn’t the full workout I wanted but it was good just the same.
Lunch today was a mango salad from Qdoba.
This season gets better by the episode now. I loved Emily’s one on one with Arie. He seems a little intense though. Intensity is good sometimes but other times it’s a little creepy. It felt really early for I love you to come out but if that’s really the way he’s feeling more power to him. I don’t think he’ll be the winner but I think he’ll be one of the final two.
The group date was awkward and boring. Doug has been awkward from the beginning and he just waited to long and let the situation get more uncomfortable week after week. I was glad to see him go. Chris is quite an idiot and I see him going home next week. Unless someone else’s hometown date goes awful. Sean has grown on me. I thought he was a little big headed at first but I like him now. Not only is he gorgeous but he seems genuinely interested in Emily and the process.
I honestly can’t even remember John’s date. You could tell Emily wasn’t feeling the chemistry.
Jef earned some points with me with his “I wanna date you so hard and then marry the shit out of you”. It was cute but the puppets were too much. Jef seems perfect but I have a weird feeling about him. He seems a little young and inexperienced. I’m not sure he could handle Emily.
Sean’s run through the streets was adorable and pretty steamy.
I’m glad to see John go and I think we’ll see Chris leave next week.
I’m off to have some turkey quinoa and watch design star. Have a great night all!
Well here we are at Monday again. Let me tell you how stressed out I was when I woke up, looked at the clock and it said 7:35. I have to leave my house at 8:00 to be to work on time. That left me 25 minutes to walk the dogs and completely get ready. I somehow managed to get ready and get to work on time but there was no time for breakfast or a workout.
Yes that says 111. It’s stinkin hot outside today!
And here’s my lunch.
So it took a couple tries to take this picture because every time I would take it all I could think about is that part of Happy Gilmore where he does the Subway commercial. “I eat one everyday to keep me strong” “Now that’s a hole in one” haha!
So I listen to some crazy music sometimes and I’m not ashamed to admit it. Britney Spears, Kesha, and N’Sync make routine appearances on my Pandora stations. But right now I am loving “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen. It makes almost no sense and the words are pretty awful but I just can’t help it. I love this song. I run around the kitchen singing this song at the top of my lungs. My husband has a lot of patience or he’s just as crazy as I am but don’t tell him I told you shhhh.
What’s your guilty pleasure Pandora station or just your guilty pleasure song?
My station is the N’Sync station. I love 90’s pop songs. Although the 90’s pop station plays too much alternative. It’s still a great station but not if you’re in the mood for some pop!
The Bachelorette is on tonight! Who’s watching?
Happy Sunday. It’s been pretty insane here the last few days! Thursday night I did my first Crossfit workout with Steve as my trainer. We didn’t go very long since I didn’t want to hate it! We did two circuits and by the end I was a sweaty mess with a bruised pinky and the beginnings of blisters. But I loved it. With the right pair of gloves I think I could do pretty well.
Check out this Farmers Market.
They had so much stuff. We came home with tomatoes, cucumbers, cherries, and broccoli. And then we had some frozen yogurt.
It was soy frozen yogurt and it was a bit gritty. Not my favorite but still very tasty. I normally get blackberries in my fro yo but since they didn’t have any I opted for Reese’s Piece’s chunks. I have to say the blackberries win it.
Here is our view from fro yo. They have a fountain for the kids and a ton of food booths and homemade knick knacks.
We made a trip to Outdoor world to exchange my dad’s fathers day present. We got him a boat cover that was a wee bit too small.
Then we returned this guy!
We’ve been watching my brother and his family’s dog for a few days. He didn’t let me sleep much until we figured out the only way he would sleep was on the bed with us. So of course in addition to a lab and a chihuahua we added a 90 pound Rottweiler to our queen size bed and somehow managed to make it work.
We headed to Chatfield Reservoir after that to do some wake surfing on a friends boat.
I of course took no pictures that were worth anything! I’ll get better I promise! It was a fun time. Steve got up on the surf board. I’ll have to try next time because it was getting too dark.
I’m off to run errands today.
Have a great Sunday!
